Power Moms is a memoir by Joann S. Lublin. It is a book about the way executive mothers navigate both their life and work. She is a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter at Wall Street Journal and an acclaimed author as well. Apart from the subject title, Earning It is another fantastic book from the author.
The audio narration of Power Moms book is done by Caroline Slaughter. It was a fine performance that will make you enjoy its content and grasp it with ease.
A good number of mothers for the very first time in the history of America are heading many major corporations. These include Ulta Beauty General Motors and Best Buy. Over the past few decades, women managed to make huge gains that came through the executive suites. Still, all of these ‘Power Moms’ struggled big time with balancing their responsibilities as mothers. The author of this book draws on all the experiences of the two different generations of the nation of those successful women. This was done to gauge how far they have come and how far ahead they still have to go in their personal lives as mothers and professional careers.
The author beautifully combined her insights with a sample of85 mothers who were working across different industries. Those executive mothers include the public company chiefs Carol Bartz of Yahoo, Ellen Kullman, and Michele Buck of Hershey. Her analysis will be worth it.
The book did a thorough examination of how the working mothers over the years have evolved. The author shared many rich anecdotes from plenty of working mothers which made this book very interesting and helpful for the listeners.
