The Summer I turned Pretty

The Summer I Turned Pretty is a fictional title. It is written by Jenny Han. She is the number one bestselling author in New York Times. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is her best novel so far. Apart from this one, she did a brilliant job with the writing of her Always and Forever, Lara Jean.

The narration of this audio novel is done by Jessica Almasy. It was a very good narration. However, setting up the audio at 1.25x is recommended for a much better listening experience.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is kind of a bittersweet novel by the author. It recounts the summer of the 16th birthday of Bely. When she arrived at the beach house with her family that June then Jeremiah, her longtime summer friend appeared kind of awkward and standoffish in her presence. Conrad, her older brother who was also her secret crush appeared quite distant and cold as well.

However, her extreme beauty was not the only main reason for their immense change in attitude and overall behavior. Belly would eventually learn about the immensely painful secret which dampened the spirit of all of her childhood friends.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is an excellent coming-of-age story. The author takes her audience from the present to the past with excellent insights. You will find this novel full of romance and at the same time, it will be heartbreakingly real as well. It is an ideal blend of family drama, romance, and a coming-of-age story. It is the one that will be substantially intense than most of the other similar kinds of stories. The narration further made this novel even more special.
