Jackaby, the first chapter of the same Jackaby series is a fictional novel for children with a great story. Apart from that, The Unready Queen novel will bring good entertainment for people of all ages.

The narration of this chapter is done by Nicola Barber. If you are picky about narrators then Nicola Barber will not offer any excuse to you. She gave a very captivating performance and she is definitely among the best narrators that we have today.

Abigail Rook along with the Sherlockian supernatural detective R. F. Jackaby are back on the trail of something sinister. They were on the hunt for a monster, thief, and a murderer.

In New Fiddleham, New England in 1892, the thing is not the way they appear to be. This was especially the case when Abigail Rook and R. F. Jackaby, her eccentric employer were summoned to investigate the supernatural. In the first instance, highly vicious shape-shifter species disguised themselves in the form of a litter of kittens. One day later, their owner gets killed. All this happened with one mysterious wound only. In a nearby Ga’s Valley, bones of dinosaurs went missing mysteriously from a recently concluded dig. On top of that, there was an unknown beast who started attacking the people and animals both while leaving behind their garbled bodies. Abigail was summoned for help along with Jackaby to hunt the monster, thief, and murderer.

William Ritter blended supernatural and science brilliantly while keeping a good balance between violence and whimsy. It will be a quirky novel with all great action. Kudos to Nicola Baber for her perfect narration.
