Braiding Sweetgrass

Braiding Sweetgrass is a nonfictional book about indigenous wisdom, excellent scientific knowledge, and the education of plants. This book is written by Robin Wall Kimmerer. She is an American professor of Distinguished Teaching of Environmental and Forest Biology. She is also the Director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment. This role is at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Apart from the subject book, she is also the author of the nonfictional book titled Gathering Moss. This book is about the cultural and natural history of the Mosses.

The narration of this book is done by robin Wall Kimmerer herself. She did it to the best of her abilities and her followers were able to grasp her message in such a powerful voice. Her voice made this audiobook such a special one for the listeners.

Robin Wall Kimmerer as a botanist and also a professor of plant ecology as spent a good long career learning how to ask all those questions of nature. These questions are the ones to be asked using the different available tools of science. As a Potawatomi woman, she managed to learn a lot from the elders of her family. History has also been her teacher over the years along with many other cultures as well with their plants, animals, and nature.

The author wove an extremely exciting and wonderful tale that she has actually learned from the culture that she follows. All this comes from her own personal experiences and also what science teaches us. After reading this book, one would feel wiser, empowered and with much more awareness. It short, this powerful book could make you a completely different person.
