Harry Dresden has done wonders with the help of his powers; being the only official wizard in the world he has fulfilled his responsibilities in the best possible way. But now he is dead and cannot provide his services to the world anymore. Harry is not worried after being shot from behind because the responsibility of saving the world is not on his shoulders anymore. He is a soul now and hopefully, he is heading towards heaven. However, after waiting for a while he realizes that he is going nowhere. Somehow he is stuck between this world and the world beyond. Jim Butcher adds more to Harry’s sufferings when he sees his friends in terrible danger and is not able to do anything. The problem of his friends can be solved if he can find the man who has killed him, it would also help him pass to the other world.
The only problem which stands in his way now is that he does not possess a body which means he cannot use his powers as well. With problems arising and the evil forces combining against Harry, he must perform the best trick ever which would surpass his performance in Storm Front and Fool Moon. Harry has confronted his enemies before but not without his powerful body; here he is a helpless ghost who is moving here and there for help. If he fails this time he would remain as a wandering lonely ghost till eternity and of course, no ghost or man wants that. The clock is ticking and Harry has to perform one last feat before disappearing.
