Derek Perkins, the narrator, has done a fantastic job narrating the book. He portrayed all the characters satisfactorily.

The chieftain of the MacDonalds of Sleat, Connor, holds the fate of the people in his hands. Since rival clans are plotting all the time to take over his region, he is duty-bound to make decisions that benefit him. Thus, it affects who he will marry, trust, and fight.

Connor is in search of guidance and he comes across Ilysa, a young girl with the gift of foresight. She reveals an approaching danger. She also has something for Connor. However, as he has to make a powerful alliance, her bloodline is far too humble for him.

Ilysa speaks softly, dresses plainly, and loves her chieftain more than anyone. Also, her powers to see evil and heal others are unique. When Connor strokes the passion inside her, she feels bliss unlike she has ever felt. Suddenly, she feels that Connor is in grave danger. Now, she has to prove to him that she is the right woman for him.

This book gives us an important lesson of love and those people who wait for it eventually receive it. Furthermore, it was a good ending to the story of Connor and Ilysa.
