Madness surrounds the earth and people are changing into fleshy beings who eat other humans within no time. Just sun flares with higher intensity fell on the surface of the earth and those flares changed the humans into something completely different. Some say that it was a disease that landed with the flares and others think that it was a curse that has fallen on the human race.
Whatever the things were nobody knows but one thing is clear i.e the rest of the human race which was safe from the disease is now in danger. The Eastern United States has been eaten up completely by these monster-type humans and those humans who have survived the disease are now running for their life. Between this, there are two characters with the name Mark and Trina.
Mark and Trina were among those lucky ones who didn’t get affected by the disease and they think that they can save the human race as they have a plan. Construction of the plan was easy but implementation is a tough thing. Those whom they held dear once are on their tail now and some sacrifices are needed at this stage. James Dashner’s skills are better in this if seen from the point of view of The Maze Runner and The Death Cure.
The madness in the diseased ones can make anyone tremble in fear. Also, narration increases that horror as Mark Deakins has used his heavy voice to induce the fear in our minds permanently. After when the apocalypse is over in the story the fear of all the scenes and the dead bodies will haunt the mind of the listener in the days to come.
