Hour Game

David Baldacci is the author of Hour Game, book no. 2 of the King and Maxwell series. It is a mystery fiction book. It is the most satisfying and mind-blowing book of the series. Check out other works by the author such as A Minute to Midnight and Zero Day.

Scott Brick has performed the narration of this book. He is held back by a convoluted story. There might be too many murders and focus on subplots. None of that is on Brick, however. He is very easy to listen to. He has turned in a satisfactory performance.

A woman is discovered in the woods, sadly dead. She has been murdered. Sounds like a simple case. But the story takes a dark turn early. It’s not as simple as it seems. She has been murdered in a specific way. The fact is that the killer is copying famous serial killers.
The killer is replicating the styles of some of the most infamous murders of all time. Two things are unknown: why are they doing this, and who will be the next victim. This is when Sean King and Michelle Maxwell enter the scene. They are two ex-Secret Service agents who have been hired to defend the innocence of a man accused of burglary. This is a case involving an aristocratic family so the stakes are high. Certain discoveries lead them right in the middle of a frantic hunt that has even befuddled the FBI. They’ve set their feet inside the Hour Game, where they will uncover terrifying secrets. As they get closer to the truth, however, they realize that the biggest shocker was waiting for them at the end of the alley. It may be too late at that point.
