Manitou Canyon is a suspenseful mystery thriller. It is the 15th chapter of the Cork O’Connor novel series which is written by William Kent Krueger. He won the Anthony Award twice. If you want to confirm enjoyment by taking no chances at all then go with his Ordinary Grace novel. If you like the first recommended novel then you will surely like his This Tender Land novel as well.
In this novel, you will find out that the lives of a lot of people are at risk when Cork O’Connor disappeared just days before the wedding of his daughter. Right since the painful deaths of his father, wife, and best friend, Cork has always thought about November to be the cruelest of all months. It is because this was the month all three of his most beloved people died. His daughter has still picked this dismal time for her wedding and if Cork was uneasy in this time of the year then it was understandable.
His concerns became even more serious when a man who was camping in the wilderness of the Canoe area in Minnesota goes missing. The official search started and ended with absolutely no recovery of the man at all. Cork is approached by the family of that man for staying on the case until he is recovered. The wedding of his daughter was coming so near and the weather was also looking quite threatening. But, he still accepts and made a return to that wilderness all on his own.
The narration of this novel is done by David Chandler. It was an outstanding performance which will surely lit up your mood. You cannot imagine any better voice than him for the characters of this novel.
