Smoke and Iron

Protectors of the library are called once again as the threats from the surroundings increase once again. Jess Brightwell and his companions have been protecting this ancient library for many years and on this occasion, they need their wit and courage to outclass their enemy. Many of the figures that have emerged to save the library are not heroic apparently but as time passes we come to know that they were the right person for the job. Rachel Caine has the habit of putting more cleverness in her main characters than raw strength.
They get the job done by the use of their skills and hidden talents. Julian Elfer because of all this hasn’t given the characters a strong voice rather a clever and cunning style is given to each character that has emerged to save the great library. The library has secrets that can bring terrible things to the world if left unprotected. The enemies can use their powers for their own goals and then there would be no stopping.

Some chapters with light hearted fun are also present in the story, perhaps the author wanted to add something for the kids too. In Stillhouse Lake and Heartbreak Bay, such an opportunity was not there for the audience. This series has been continuing in this way and the fans like it this way, a change at this stage might not be acceptable for any of us. Tragedies will not make you cry in this story as nothing is over dramatic but the impact of the action scenes and the scenes of sacrifice are stronger than ever.
