The Guise of Another

It takes a very long time for a person to build his reputation in society but all of it can be taken in one single moment. No one investigates after that whether you are innocent or not as your bad name starts spreading in society very fast. People start thinking that your previous good deeds were also a smokescreen that was keeping the bad things hidden. Alexander Rupert was not expecting that to happen to him because he was the one who was awarded a medal not very long ago. No the suspicion of corruption has made him go down in reputation in front of the whole department. No matter how hard he tries now it is of no use at all. Between all of this, a case appears in the city related to a car accident in which a victim is a person who died more than a decade ago. For Alexander, it is finally a chance to prove to the vast audience that he is not on the wrong side of the law.
However, like The Life We Bury and Nothing More Dangerous the hero gets into more and more trouble. The more he tries to secure his life and profession the more it becomes difficult for him. His wife seems to be slipping out of his hands and then the author Allen Eskens adds another girl who happens to be the girlfriend of the enemy. All this time Alexander has never faced anyone like the Beast who is cruel and has the heart of stone for his enemies. The Beast needs something which has the missing man and Alexander thinks that if he reaches that thing he would be able to get the upper hand.
