Maybe having a vampire as a boyfriend isn’t the brightest of ideas? Someone ask Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress. She’s working in small-town Louisiana. Her life completely changes when a vampire walks into her life. The story is told from her perspective and is set in the early 2000s. in Sookie’s reality, vampires along with other supernatural beings are a reality.
Sookie has fallen in love with Bill Compton. She met him at the diner where she works. She tells us that vampires don’t have any need to hide from humans anymore since the invention of synthetic blood. Thus, it allowed the previously underground vampires to come in front of the human community and reveal themselves. Another point is that in this reality, vampire blood is imbued with qualities such as increased strength and increasing healing capability. It also makes the person drinking it better looking than before. Thus, in this universe, vampires are not the terrifying creatures we are told to be. It’s a refreshingly different take on the myth of vampires.
